December is in interesting month in business. A month that is dominated by year-ends, time off, planning or goal setting, and for many, leveraging the holiday shopping surge that contributes a large part of spending each year.

Recapping December’s Goals:

Webinars:  I did my first webinar! Which had colossal mistakes and I can’t wait to regularly do more.  Signup here to be notified of the next one.
Podcast:  I followed Pat Flynn’s awesome podcast tutorial and the framework is set! Plus a couple of episodes are ready to go.  The release will be sometime in early February (what am I waiting for, right?)
Coaching: My coaching programs are setup, and I’ve chosen to use Expertise.tv for all my coaching sessions. They take care of all the details and they also host webinars. Bonus! 🙂
Course Content Videos: The course videos need some editing, but we’re about 90% of the way there.  I’m fully aware that I’m now about one month behind and I’m anxious to get launched as well.  The course(s) will be my main revenue channel and focus for 2017!

One Takeaway: Focus on Monetization

This December was a different one for me and the family. Enjoying some old Christmas traditions and starting a few new ones. Getting ready for our second daughter due in January. The first month without the agency and that left me the head space to dive deep into monetization, building revenue channels and revenue planning for 2017.
I’ve looked at the different ways I can leverage my knowledge and expereince to create something people will pay for.  The options that I see are available to anyone that wants to create a side hustle too:
  • Freelancing
  • Coaching
  • Online Course
  • E-commerce Drop-ship
  • Affiliates
After careful consideration, 2017 is going to be a year of courses for me.  I think its a fantastic opportunity to teach and share what I’ve learned over my career working in sales and marketing.  I really enjoy making an impact in people’s lives, and now having a young family, I can see how many parents could use the extra cash that a side hustle will bring… that might just be my target market… stay tuned.

Goals for January 2017

All of this will require traffic. A lot of traffic. My goals for January are based on Content and Traffic.  I think that I’m going to be fine with the progress as it occurs, but I know that there are a couple of specific goals that I have for January.
  • Write First Guest Posting
  • Increase Social Following & Engagement 
  • Start Facebook Ads
  • Continue with my Automation Goal
